Design and Implementation of Geo-Employment: a Job Listings Platform)

Project Synopsis

According to studies, long-distance commuting to workplaces has been linked to lower health outcomes. This is due to the interdomain transfer effect (spill-over) of a bad commuting situation or a lack of time for health-promoting activities like physical activity, relaxation, and social participation. To prevent such adverse effects, it is imperative for workers to reduce the distance for commuting from home to work. In this project, we present a Geo Employment System. The system allows employers and employees to post and find jobs relative to their location. The system provides daily updates on the various available vacancies, which are sorted based on distance from nearest to farthest to the employee’s home.
