| In Ghana, a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings happen between tenants and landlords that share a single energy meter. This occurs because the expense is not split evenly among them, despite the fact that individual utilities differ substantially, and as a result, one may feel cheated. The main issue emerges when residents are unconcerned about their daily actions. Consumers will not have knowledge of how much energy the various appliances utilize, therefore monthly feedback is insufficient. This project seeks to address these problems by providing a segregated system for invoicing individual usage and to lower the country's cost of energy meter importation. The device would minimize conflicts and misunderstandings that arise between tenants and landlords sharing a single energy meter, reduce the importation of energy meters and allow consumers to monitor their energy consumption through simple bluetooth communication.
The Smart Multi-User Energy Meter is capable of supporting multiple consumers, displaying the consumption on a liquid -crystal display (LCD) screen and also streaming the reading of the consumption to them via a Bluetooth app on their phone whilst giving them the capability to disconnect supply also with the help of Bluetooth communication protocol. The smart multi meter will provide society with benefits such as energy efficiency, cost savings, demand management, remote monitoring and maintenance, and data-driven insights, contributing to a more sustainable and affordable energy infrastructure. |
